History and heritage find their expression in the folk art style paintings of Jessica Wasilewski. A descendent of Mayflower settlers who makes her home in historic Pennsylvania, Jessica paints an America we all know. While we may not manage to stay there, that America is a place we always think of as home.
Jessica grew up in New Jersey and has been painting since childhood. Primarily self taught, she was influenced by her Mother, artist Ann Reeves, who encouraged Jessica and her three sisters to develop their imaginations. Art School was the kitchen table with a big box of shared crayons.
Her folk art style of painting reflects a love of tradition, family, friends and simpler times. She uses family and friends as a personal signature in her paintings, and her most important exclamation is including her pet Pug, Buddy in most every painting.
Jessica’s work, which along with original paintings includes lithograph’s, giclees, puzzles, calendars, cards and hand painted furniture is available through the artist and art galleries throughout the Northeast.
In 2005 three of Jessica’s paintings won the prestigious SoHo/Chelsea International Art Competition in New York City.
