Rodney is a native of Philadelphia, Pa, currently living in the Bucks County area of Pennsylvania. Retired after 38 years of working in Information Technology, and now devotes time photographing and creating digital art. He began interest in art as a child drawing comic book characters. A photographic career also started at a young age with my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye, but really started in the US Air Force as a photographic technician. He attended Philadelphia Community College and Tyler School of Art, Temple University where he majored in Photography. He exhibited in group and two person shows in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is currently exhibiting work at ARTisZen ARTS Gallery in Lambertville, NJ I have recently exhibited at the ArtistBridge Annual Juried show and PHOTO 2008 at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.

As an Artist inspired by the ambiguities of colors created in the universe and the patterns that are all around us. He challenges himself and the viewer with the exploration of his digitally created computer abstract images and photographs. His interest in creating this style of work has led him to the world of Fractals. What is a Fractal? They are Mathematical equations used to create geometric patterns that are repeated at ever smaller scales to produce irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical geometry. Look at nature closely and you will see how a fractal often imitates what we see in nature. His photographic images often relate to his digital abstracts in relation to color, pattern and the geometric forms and most importantly seeing in a different way.

The various software tools his uses are like the paintbrush used by painters. He creates surreal landscapes or uniquely architectural Cityscapes. The abstract work takes you on a journey using the Mind’s Eye to take you into my world of surreal places and things. His photographs will take you on a journey to familiar places but seeing them in a “Different Light.”
