With foundations in painting coming from studying masters such as Carot, Emil Carlson, and George Inness, Passaic, New Jersey native Diana Kirsten Gibson began to study oil painting at the Ridgewood Institute of Art in 1997 with internationally known artist and teacher, John Phillip Osborne.

While studying directly from nature, her goal is to recreate life on canvas by focusing upon capturing prismatic light and atmospheric effects. Her landscape studies are conducted in Europe, Canada and extensively throughout New Jersey. The devotion of her painting has been rewarded with tremendous results in a relatively short time. Her peers and art collectors have enthusiastically recognized Gibson's painterly approach of capturing prismatic light and atmospheric effect.

Presently, Gibson is on staff as well as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Ridgewood Art Institute.

"My belief is that the high purpose of painting is to exalt the beauty that surrounds us.  It is essential to be able to depict the joy and inspiration derived from all that is beautiful.  I strive to bring life out of the canvas in a way that is honest and humble."
