Born in Brazil in 1965, Hamilton moved to the United States in 1987. During his many years of studying art and working in art restoration, he began to explore new painting techniques.

Hamilton's latest series of paintings reach a new level of beauty and uniqueness. He applies pure silver leaf over all his canvases and then creates dramatic images in oil.

The paintings create their own "internal light" due to the interaction of the richness of the oil and the mercurial nature of the silver leaf. The composition of the paintings are inspired by the changing seasons of natural landscapes which are powerfully interpreted in a monochromatic palette.

Skies come alive with either intense layers of clouds or dramatic washes of color. Tree shadows reach out beyond the boundaries of the canvas to offer an unique and dramatic one-of-a-kind work of art.

Already acquired by numerous private and corporate collections throughout the world, Hamilton Aguiar's work is quickly receiving well deserved international recognition.
